ChoreJar does not have accounts, does not have servers, and does not collect anything about you or your kids. Every chore, star, reward, and Kindness Ledger entry your family creates stays on the device it was created on. There is nothing to opt out of, because there is nothing being collected in the first place.
When you set up ChoreJar, you create a jar for each kid in your family. What you enter stays local to your device:
All of it lives in the app's local on-device database. None of it is sent anywhere, because ChoreJar has no code path that sends anything anywhere.
There is no sign-up, no login, and no account of any kind. ChoreJar does not talk to any server, ours or anyone else's, apart from Apple's own StoreKit for the optional purchase. There is no cloud sync and no backup service built into the app. If you delete the app, the data on that device is gone, the same way deleting any local file would be.
ChoreJar does not send notifications and does not ask for notification permission. There is nothing to remind you about, because nothing in the app depends on a schedule you would need a reminder for.
ChoreJar does not request access to your location, camera, contacts, microphone, or health data, and does not use any of them. The app has no reason to ask, and it does not ask.
ChoreJar is free to use with one kid. Families with more than one kid can choose to buy Whole Family Unlock, a one-time purchase that is shareable across your Apple Family group. That purchase is handled entirely by Apple: Apple processes the payment, and Apple's App Store account system remembers that you bought it. ChoreJar never sees your payment details and never collects any information about the purchase beyond checking, through Apple's own on-device tools, whether it happened.
Nothing, from anyone. ChoreJar does not collect analytics, does not use advertising, does not use crash reporting that sends data off the device, and does not track you across other apps or websites. There is no data of any kind that reaches Canyon Sky Rain LLC from this app.
ChoreJar is a family app, meant to be set up and used together with a parent in the room. The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children: names entered for kids are stored only on the family's own device, never transmitted, and never seen by us. Nothing a child enters into ChoreJar ever leaves the device it was entered on.
Because everything stays on your device, you are always in control of it. Deleting a kid's jar inside the app removes that kid's chores, star history, and Kindness Ledger entries. Deleting the app removes everything. We do not hold a copy anywhere, so there is nothing on our end to separately delete.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this same address with an updated effective date at the top. Continuing to use ChoreJar after a change means you accept the updated policy.
