Privacy Policy

Effective August 27, 2026 · Last updated: October 2, 2026

The Short Version

Weeknight does not collect, transmit, or share any of your data, because it does not have the ability to. There are no accounts, no servers, and no network connection built into the app at all. Everything you type into Weeknight, your saved meals, your week's plan, and your grocery list, stays on your device, in a local database, until you delete it or delete the app.

We do not know your name, your email, what your family eats, or that you even have the app installed, unless you write to us directly.

Information the App Stores on Your Device

Weeknight saves the following, entirely on your device:

None of this leaves your device. There is no account to create and nothing to sign into, so none of it is tied to your identity in any way we could see even if we wanted to. If you delete the app, this information is deleted along with it.

No Servers, No Accounts

Weeknight has no backend server of any kind. The app does not make network requests, does not sync your data anywhere, and does not require or offer an account, login, or profile of any kind. There is nothing for us to host, and nothing for us to see.

Notifications

Weeknight does not send push notifications or local notifications, and does not request notification permission. There is nothing to configure and nothing to turn off.

Location, Camera, Contacts, and Health

Weeknight does not request or use your location, camera, photo library, contacts, microphone, or health data. The app does not ask for any of these permissions, because none of its features need them.

Purchases

Weeknight offers one optional in-app purchase, Weeknight Unlimited, which removes the limit on how many meals you can save. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see your payment information, billing address, or card details. Apple's own privacy policy governs how App Store purchases are processed; ours does not apply to that part of the transaction.

What We Collect

Nothing. Weeknight contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting, and no tracking of any kind, whether about you individually or about app usage in aggregate. We built it this way on purpose: the whole point of the app is that your family's dinner plans are yours, not ours.

Children's Privacy

Weeknight is a household planning tool intended for the adult or teen who plans the family's meals. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, child or adult, because it does not collect personal information from anyone at all. As with the rest of the app, this holds regardless of who is using it.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because Weeknight stores everything locally and shares nothing with us, you are always in full control of your data. To delete everything Weeknight has ever stored, delete the app from your device; the local database is removed along with it. There is nothing on our end to delete, because there is nothing on our end at all.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy ever changes, meaning if a future version of Weeknight adds a feature that changes what data the app touches, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. We recommend checking back if you're ever curious, though given how the app is built, we don't expect much to change here.
