Privacy Policy

Effective August 27, 2026 · Last updated: October 7, 2026

Roadlore ("the App") is developed by Canyon Sky Rain LLC ("we," "us," "our"), a Utah limited liability company. Roadlore maps national parks and historic landmarks, reads their stories aloud as you drive, can notify you as you approach one, and keeps a passport of the places you have found. There are no accounts and nothing to sign in to. We do not receive, see, or collect anything you do in the App.

The Short Version

Everything Roadlore knows about your travels stays on your iPhone. The App has no server, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. It uses your location on your phone to find the landmarks near you and on the road ahead, and it never sends your location to us or to anyone else. We could not identify a single Roadlore user if we tried.

Information Stored on Your iPhone

This information lives in the App's own storage on your iPhone. It is not synced to iCloud by the App and is never sent to us. Like most app data, it is included in your device's own backups (iCloud Backup or a backup to your computer), which you and Apple control and we cannot access.

Your Location

Roadlore asks for your location only when you turn on a feature that needs it, and it explains why before iOS shows the permission dialog. The atlas, the stories, and the Listen button all work without location.

Your location is compared with the built-in atlas on your iPhone and then discarded. It is never stored as a history, never sent to us, never linked to an identity, and never used for advertising.

Apple Services the App Uses

Roadlore's own code makes no network requests. A few Apple features it relies on do talk to Apple, under Apple's privacy policy rather than ours:

Purchases

Roadlore is a free download. Roadlore Radio's automatic drive narration is free for 10 stories a month, and the optional Roadlore Unlimited removes that limit. It is offered as an auto-renewing subscription ($2.49 per month or $17.99 per year) or a one-time lifetime purchase ($49.99). You can manage or cancel a subscription in your iPhone's Settings under your Apple Account, and a purchase can be restored with Restore Purchases.

Sensors and Permissions Not Used

Roadlore does not use the camera, your photo library, your contacts, health data, Bluetooth, or the microphone. Stories are spoken with Apple's on-device speech; nothing is recorded.

Sharing

When you tap to share a poster card, the App draws the image on your iPhone and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is your choice, and we are not told.

What We Collect

Nothing. If you email us for support, we receive only what you choose to send, and we use it only to answer you.

Children's Privacy

Roadlore is a travel and history app for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13. Because the App collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Keeping and Deleting Your Information

Everything is stored on your iPhone. Deleting the App deletes your passport, Radio history, and preferences from the device. We hold no copies, so there is nothing for us to keep or delete.

Changes to This Policy

If the App changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above before that version is released.
